Hey Bec!

Tell us a little bit about you!

My name is Rebecca (Bec for short !)

I’m 45 years old and live in Mansfield in Nottinghamshire. I have two boys aged 13 and 9, and two step children, 15 & 12 with my fiancé of 5 years (who I got engaged to in August last year).

I have been in the beauty industry for 22 years and work from my beautiful salon at home.

Previously I was an aerobics instructor but slowly began dropping my classes when my business started getting busier, and then I no longer had the time to fit all my fitness classes in lol.

I absolutely love the outdoors so a lover of camping and hiking in the Peak and Lake District, and I love yoga, especially Hot Pod Yoga!

How did you get into nails?

I got into nails because I was always creative as a child.

I loved art at school and was always making jewellery, fridge magnets and ornaments out of FIMO.

I knew I always wanted to get into beauty and nails but I was very shy in my younger years so the thought of going to college at 16 years old petrified me, so I waited a few years until I came out of my shell a bit more.

What’s your fave thing about The Nail Tech Org?

The fantastic community, the abundance of information, tutorials, courses and events and of course Amy and the rest of the amazing gang!

But my all time favourite thing so far that I’ve done with the NTO is the Crete retreat!!!!!!

Wow, what an unbelievable experience that I’m so very lucky to have been able to go on.

Life changing for my business and my own personal growth. I would 100% recommend to anyone who’s thinking of doing it.

What’s your favourite course you’ve done with us?

My favourite course would have to be the pricing programme from last year that went viral all over the news.  

This truly opened my eyes to pricing my services correctly and making sure it was a “fair exchange” for the client and myself.  

I would never have been able to have done something like this on my own, let alone create a spreadsheet with all the formulas and calculations in it.

What are your favourite kind of nails to do?

I don’t really have a favourite although I do love a good leopard print nail art or a short classy red nail.  

My clients are either plain and simple or really out there so it’s nice to have the difference and not stuck doing the same thing all the time 

Tell us about a holy grail product in your kit.

My fave item in my kit would have to be the navy “Helen/katey” cuticle nippers.  

I could not live without these and have a few spares just in case.

Who is your dream client?

Julia Roberts.

She’s my favourite actress from when I was young and saw her in pretty woman.

I would just love to have her in my salon doing her nails and beauty treatments whilst chatting away like we had known each other for years.
