Meet Our Member of the Month: @sixtwentysalon

If there’s one thing we LOVE about our Members Club, it’s getting to see the incredible things our nail techs are out there achieving. And trust us, this month’s feature is a GOOD one!

Because for November, we’re bringing you a DOUBLE Member of the Month!

Say helloooo to Chloe and Emily, the talented duo behind @sixtwentysalon!

Not only have these two built the DREAMIEST salon and training academy together, they’re also doing some pretty amazing things in nail education.

We caught up with the girls to chat about their journey, what it’s really like building a business together, their passion for education and what being part of the NTO community means to them.

Tell us a little bit about you!

So we both have recently moved into new houses so we’re in the middle of making them homes with our partners!

We spend a lot of our time outside of the salon with each other either going to the cinema and Nando’s dates or doing anything spa like or wellness! We love nothing more than a reset day! 

More than anything we love spending time with our family. We feel so lucky to be surrounded by such an amazing support network and value time with them a lot! 

How did you two meet, and what inspired you to start your studio together?

We met in nursery so we’ve been best friends since the age of 3, but our mams can remember us being in carriers next to each other in the playground when they were picking our brothers up from nursery so we literally have known each other our whole lives! 

We’re best friends who both do the same job, so honestly, why wouldn’t you want to work together?!

We knew we shared the same passion and had similar ambitions, and building something together just made sense.

Opening our studio has been one of the best decisions we’ve made, and being able to grow our businesses side by side makes it even more special.

How did you get into nails?

Emily worked in the police prior to doing nails and has always been into beauty, she first started doing makeup when she was 14 which was technically her first job.

She then decided to do a nail course just as a creative outlet and then it just took off! 

Chloe’s journey started when she was studying interior design at university.

She’s always been creative, and loved doing her own nails so much that she decided to train in nails alongside university.

During her first year of uni, things took off far more than expected and she made the decision to leave university and pursue her nail career full-time.

She started out doing nails in her mam and dad’s dining room, so to look at where we are now, running a full salon and team together, is something we are so proud of.

How did you find The Nail Tech Org?

Emily followed Amy before she even did nails, then when she started nails she saw Amy was doing an online masterclass about business & at the end she talked about manifest, we bought tickets and went to the event & signed up to NTO in the car on the way home! Life changing for our businesses! 

We knew it was something we wanted to be involved in as everything aligned with us and our business!

What’s your fave thing about The Nail Tech Org?

The community!

If you work alone it’s understandably quite a lonely and isolating job at times but NTO makes you feel part of one big salon across lots of locations, we’ve made so many friends through NTO who all have the same ambitions and drive as us!

Having a space where you can connect with like minded nail techs, share experiences, learn from others and feel supported is so valuable to us!

What’s your favourite course you’ve done with us?

We both did the Educators Elevation course with NTO and this has transformed our businesses! We would absolutely recommend!!

Becoming educators and being able to share our knowledge with other nail techs is something we’re both so passionate about.

We want to ensure aspiring nail techs have access to the best quality of training! 

What are your favourite kind of nails to do?

We both would say we specialise in natural nails, long or short, with a mix of soft & hard gel application!

Emily loves funky nail art & loves a bit of juxtaposition in a nail set, so anything that is a bit out there and quirky.

Tell us about a holy grail product in your kit.

We honestly couldn’t choose just one!

Emily’s holy grail would probably be her teeny weeny efile bit from Magpie or a bottle of Adele Build & Boost from Twenty Pro! 

Chloe’s Brillbird Brush & Go is a favourite for creating a gorgeous crisp French manicure and she also couldn’t live without her Staleks nail files.

Having the right tools makes such a difference to the finish of your work, and these are definitely staples in our kits!

Who is your dream client?

We both have to say Miley Cyrus! 

We’ve always said we would travel ABSOLUTELY anywhere to see her in concert no matter what! 

So imagine getting to do her nails as well?! What a collab! It’s one on the dream board! 

We grew up watching Hannah Montana together on a Friday evening so it would be a real full circle moment!

We have some more courses coming out soon & an exciting relaunch of some of our best bits! 

We also have more renovations going on in the salon so we will be expanding the team again soon!!
