Meet Our Member of the Month: Rebecca from @rebeccagloverthehideaway

This January, we’re kicking off 2025 by celebrating Rebecca from @rebeccagloverthehideaway as our Member of the Month!

From her journey in the nail industry to her holy-grail products, goals for the year ahead, and what being part of NTO means to her — scroll to get to know her a little better…

Tell us a little bit about you!

Hi, I’m Rebecca!

Wife, mum to two teenagers (15 & 19) and one furry little baby.

I love family time, catching up with friends, and being cosy at home.

Staying active with running, the gym, and just starting my Pilates journey.

How did you get into nails?

I started my journey in the beauty industry straight after leaving school in 1999.

I went to college and completed my NVQs in beauty, never imagining how far it would take me.

My first job was at Vision of Beauty in Doncaster town. My boss, Paula, was truly the best. I’ll never forget her sending me home with a black nail polish to practise on my mum  long before black polish was even popular. She definitely helped shape who I am today in the industry.

I later worked at a salon called Blush in Sprotbrough before deciding to go mobile, where I spent 10 years building my business. During that time, I also had my babies, learning to balance work, family, and my passion for beauty.

I then made the decision to go back into a salon. A new one was opening just down the road from where we lived – All About You, a place that helped me grow both professionally and personally. I was there 5 years renting my beauty room and a nail desk before going into partnership with my business partner Kate and owning the salon together. and together we built and ran the salon for five years supporting our clients, our team, and each other through some of the most challenging times, including Covid.

When that chapter came to a close, I followed my heart and transformed my garage at home into a space filled with calm, care, and creativity. And that’s how my home salon, The Hideaway began a little sanctuary where passion, experience, and love for the industry all come together!

How did you find The Nail Tech Org?

I’d been seeing NTO pop up on my socials for a while, and then I attended a Navy event in London where I met Lian, who spoke so passionately about being a member.

I knew I wanted to be part of it too.

What’s your favourite course you’ve done with us?

Earlier this year, I took the leap and joined NTO and I’m honestly loving it.

My New Year’s resolution is to make more time for myself and my growth.

I’ve not yet completed any NTO courses, but I’ve been watching the videos and working my way through the business programme, taking it all in at my own pace.

I’ve attended the Leicester event and Manifest in Liverpool both were incredible.

I met so many gorgeous, like-minded women, and it reminded me of something really important: working alone doesn’t have to mean feeling alone when you’re part of NTO members’ club!

What are your favourite kind of nails to do?

When it comes to nails, my absolute favourites to create are a short square micro French or a clean, plain set finished with a delicate touch of nail foil.

I also love an abstract design, where each set becomes its own little piece of art.

Tell us about a holy grail product in your kit.

I’ve been using Bio Sculpture for over 25 years, and it’s a brand I truly love and trust.

For me, nail health has always come first, and Bio Sculpture aligns perfectly with my values beautiful, long-lasting nails without compromising their natural condition.

My holy grail nail product has to be Flex Base it never fails. Hands down the best base ever

Who is your dream client?

Honestly, my dream client is any woman who appreciates healthy nails, calm appointments, and the little details.

Do you have any future plans? Let us know!

My future plans are to continue growing The Hideaway in a way that feels aligned focusing on healthy nails, beautiful work, and creating a calm space where clients truly feel looked after.
