Hey Carrie!

Tell us a little bit about you!

Hey, I’m Carrie, founder of Rose & Luxe the Outer Hebrides’ first luxury salon and training academy, opening October 2025.

Last month, I celebrated my 20th Nail Anniversary!

I’m based on the Isle of Lewis and known locally as Carrie Brown CND Nails.

Over the years, I’ve built a loyal client base by specialising in clean, detailed work, using the best products in the industry, and creating a space where every woman feels safe, seen and valued.

Now, I’m stepping into a new chapter. I want to help other women build a future they’re obsessed with. 

How did you get into nails?

I was 15 when I qualified as a nail technician at the Creative Nail Academy in Stepps—making me the youngest student they’d ever trained at the time.

Growing up, I spent a lot of my time helping out in my sister’s hair and beauty salon, and I just knew that salon life was meant for me.

Over the years, I’ve worked in nail salons, spas, department stores and beauty salons across Scotland—but 12 years ago, I took the leap into self-employment and opened a home-based salon in central Scotland.

After COVID my husband and I made the bold decision to relocate with our son to the beautiful Western Isles.

As exciting as it was, I was terrified of starting over in a place where I didn’t know a soul.

I rented a space in a local salon for almost two years before returning to my roots, working from home again and truthfully, my business has flourished since.

Every step has led me to where I am now and building Rose & Luxe, the first luxury salon and training academy of its kind in the Outer Hebrides is an absolute dream come true for me.

What’s your fave thing about The Nail Tech Org?

The community.

 I can’t thank Amy enough for creating something so powerful.

Before I found NTO, I felt a bit lost in life—like I was just going through the motions, but since joining, everything has shifted for the better—not just in my business, but in my confidence, my mindset, and the way I show up in the world.

It has changed my life.

What’s your favourite course you’ve done with us?

That’s such a hard one because I’ve loved every single one—but the Crete Retreat…Life changing.

The business education we received was absolutely next level, and it gave me the clarity, confidence, and direction I was craving.

I can honestly say it’s in my top 3 highlights of my life so far!

I’d recommend it to anyone and everyone. If you ever get the chance to go—go. It’s not just a retreat, it’s a turning point.

What are your favourite kind of nails to do?

I absolutely love transforming short, bitten, or problematic nails by doing enhancements for the client,  my favourite to do is acrylic sculpts.

There’s something so creative and satisfying about the process but the real reward is seeing the client’s confidence soar when they look down at their hands.

Tell us about a holy grail product in your kit.

CJP’s acrylic system especially the One Monomer—is an absolute game changer.

It applies beautifully, adheres flawlessly, and the colour range is just incredible.

It’s the kind of product that makes your work feel effortless and your results look great.

Who is your dream client?

It has to be the NTO queen herself—Amy. I’d yap the ears off her!

She’s overflowing with knowledge, positivity, and that next-level mindset.

Being around her instantly makes you feel like your best self. She’s the ultimate hype girl and genuinely wants every single person to reach their full potential.

Doing her nails would be a total full-circle moment and probably the most inspiring appointment ever!
