Hey Darcie-Mae, from @dmbeautybydarciemae!

Tell us a little bit about you!

Hi, I’m Darcie, I’m 26 and I’m based in Pontyclun (South Wales) 

I’m a fully qualified nail technician and beauty therapist. I’ve been self employed 3 years and 2 of those with my very own salon. 

I’m a self confessed workaholic and if I’m not in the salon working you will find me catching flights in my spare time. I love the sunshine and exploring new places. 

Ps you will likely never see me without a Diet Coke or an Iced Caramel Latte

How did you get into nails?

My journey began at the age of 17. I went to college for two years to gain my NVQ Level 2&3, then continued taking further courses to widen my treatment list and knowledge. 

I’ve always been obsessed with nail and beauty treatments so I’m so glad I’ve turned a hobby into a lifelong career. 

What’s your fave thing about The Nail Tech Org?

My favourite thing about NTO is one million percent the community.

I’ve only been a member since August 2023 and already I’ve made so many friends for life.

Everyone is so supportive and encouraging. They’ve created a place where we can share our creativity, inspire one another and motivate each other daily.

The knowledge I’ve gained in just over a year is truly amazing.

I’m a NTO girly for life.

What’s your favourite course you’ve done with us?

My favourite course I’ve done with you guys is attending the CRETE RETREAT (2024). This retreat was the ultimate trip of a lifetime.

Never in a million years did I think I’d book a solo trip and meet 19 other nail techs also doing the same thing. Little me would be pinching herself knowing I’d done all this on her own.

The amount of knowledge I come away with was mind blowing. They say you come back a whole new person and truthfully it’s correct.

I have so many core memories that I will never ever forget with 19 amazing new nail besties to go with it.

What are your favourite kind of nails to do?

I absolutely love doing nail art designs. My favourite season has to be summer inspired sets. 

I love that my clients fully trust me but also keep me on my toes as they know I love a challenge. 

Tell us about a holy grail product in your kit.

My holy grail product has to be BIAB. This product has changed the nail game for me and I’m not sure how I could ever be without it. 

Cuticle oil of course has be a close second as keep those cuticles hydrated. No one likes dry cuticles. 

Who is your dream client?

This is a tough question to answer but I’d love to give a manicure to Khloe Kardashian, i just feel she’d be absolutely hilarious. From the shows, she’s always the carefree, have-a-joke sister.

If you could sum up The Nail Tech Org in just 3 words, what would they be?

Community, Supportive, Motivational
