Autumn Nail Trends 2026: 6 Designs You’ll See Everywhere

As autumn creeps in, so does the annual urge to swap our summer sets for something a little moodier.
And while burgundy, tortie and chocolate brown aren’t going anywhere (we’d be concerned if they did), autumn 2026 is bringing plenty of newness with it too.
This year, we’re seeing loads more texture, sheer finishes and designs inspired by everything from fawn print to tweed. Even our usual autumn faves are getting mixed, layered and given a bit of a 2026 update.
So, if your clients are already starting to ask what’s trending for autumn nails this year, we’ve done the scrolling for you.
Here are 6 autumn nail trends we’re expecting to see ALL over our feeds (and nail desks) in 2026…
Fawn print nails
Leopard, you’ve got some competition. 🦌
Fawn print nails are having a BIG moment for autumn 2026, taking all those brown shades we already love at this time of year and turning them into something that actually feels new.
Inspired by the soft, spotted pattern of a deer’s coat, we’re seeing streaky caramel, chocolate and taupe bases finished with little cream or white markings.
Go full fawn across the whole set, add a couple of accent nails or mix the print with a sheer base and your usual autumn browns.
Animal print for autumn? Obviously. But this one we haven’t done 100 times already.
Tweed & textile nails
Your autumn wardrobe has officially made its way onto your nails.
Tweed and textile-inspired nails are one of the biggest nail trends coming through in 2026, with designs inspired by woven fabrics, checks, lace and even silk.
For autumn, we’re expecting these to get a LOT cosier. Think chocolate and cream tweed, burgundy checks, forest green details and textured French tips.
And you definitely don’t need every nail covered in teeny tiny lines. One or two textile-inspired nails mixed with a glossy chocolate or deep red can make the whole set feel really fresh.
Autumn polka dots
Yep, we’re STILL talking about polka dots.
One of our fave nail trends of summer isn’t disappearing just because the sun has. Instead, it’s getting an autumn refresh with chocolate brown, burgundy, cream, olive and all those gorgeous earthy shades taking over from summer brights.
We’re especially loving dots worked into mismatched autumn sets, paired with French tips or mixed with tortie and other prints.
If your clients spent all summer asking for polka dots, don’t put your dotting tool away just yet.
Jelly autumn nails
Jelly nails aren’t just for summer.
The super sheer, glossy finish we’ve been seeing everywhere this year is heading into autumn too, only now the colours are getting MUCH moodier.
We’re talking black cherry, merlot, smoky brown, deep plum and even sheer moss green. All the autumn nail colours we’d usually reach for, just with that juicy, translucent finish instead.
They’re also perfect for layering with other autumn nail trends. Add a little chrome, fawn print, tortie or magnetic detail over the top and suddenly your usual burgundy set feels completely different.
We fear we may be obsessed.
Moody freestyle nails
Can’t choose one autumn nail trend? Don’t.
Mix and match sets aren’t going anywhere, and autumn is basically the dream season for them because there are SO many colours and prints to play with.
Chocolate brown next to tortie. Burgundy with a tiny check. Polka dots with chrome. Deep plum next to a sheer jelly nail. Even fawn print can get involved.
The trick is keeping something consistent across the set, whether that’s your colour palette, finish or little details, so it still feels intentional rather than like you couldn’t decide what you wanted at the appointment
Tortie nails
We couldn’t do an autumn nail trends round-up WITHOUT tortie.
Tortoiseshell nails come back every single year, but 2026 is giving us plenty of ways to switch them up. The classic amber, caramel and chocolate tones are still very much here, but we’re seeing tortie mixed into much more detailed sets rather than taking over all ten nails.
Try a tortie French, pair it with a sheer jelly base, mix it with fawn print or add little 3D and metallic details on top. It’s also PERFECT for those mismatched sets we’re seeing everywhere this autumn.
Basically, tortie season is back. Not that we ever really put it away.
