Hey Lian, from @liandaveythestudio!

Tell us a little bit about you!

Hey, I’m Lian from Doncaster.

I have been in the industry since 2010, so a relatively late bloomer but what an industry to be in.  I love meeting new people, getting to hear all about their life stories and making a small difference to their day to day.

Outside of work I love travelling and spending time outdoors.  

How did you get into nails?

From leaving school I worked within the law sector and it wasn’t until the birth of my son Jay, that I realised I wanted a change of career away from the day to day office life.

Once Jay was settled in full time school I enrolled on a manicure course in 2010 at a local training centre and fell in love with the whole industry.  

Whilst training and gaining experience, I began a mobile beauty business before securing a beauty room within a local tanning shop.  

I then went on to co-own a beauty salon for almost ten years before Covid came along.  

I now have my own space, The Studio.

What’s your fave thing about The Nail Tech Org?

The community and support is probably my favourite part!  

Everyone is really honest with their journey and I love that.  

It doesn’t matter where you are in your career, your age, young or old, whether you’re a salon owner or a part time tech everyone is made to feel welcome with no judgements.   

What’s your favourite course you’ve done with us?

Hands down the Educator Elevation course and I would recommend this course to anyone wanting to teach.  

The knowledge you gain is outstanding and you truly are supported at every point plus you have other techs doing the course alongside you to connect with.  

I cannot wait to start teaching and launching my own courses in 2025! @thestudio_school.

I am manifesting an NTO retreat! 

What are your favourite kind of nails to do?

I love looking through everyone’s amazing nail art pics on insta however I’m a block colour kind of girl with a nice short soft square nail.  

You just can’t beat it.  

Tell us about a holy grail product in your kit.

It has to be a good Cuticle Oil or Balm!  

I bore my clients silly banging on about the difference it makes but the benefits are endless and nobody likes crusty cuticles.

My favourites are Naf!Stuff and Navy’s balm.

Who is your dream client?

I’m going to say Emma Willis.  

I really like her style and I think she would choose a nice strong colour for her manicure.

If you could sum up The Nail Tech Org in just 3 words, what would they be?

Community, supported, learning!
