Meet Our Member of the Month: Rachel from @thevampcollective_

The Nail Tech Org is continuing into 2025 with the amazing people who make our community what it is.

This February, we’re shining the spotlight on Rachel from @thevampcollective_ as our Member of the Month!

From her journey in the nail industry to her holy-grail products, goals for the year ahead, and what being part of NTO means to her — scroll on to get to know her a little better…

Tell us a little bit about you!

Hey I’m Rachel, I’m 37 and I’ve been qualified for 17 years and an active nail tech for 11 years.

Away from nails I love reading anything fantasy as well as being outside on hikes surrounded by green.

I have an amazing daughter who is 19 and is my rock.

How did you get into nails?

I never really thought about nails or beauty at all as a career but my sister actually asked me to do a nail course with her as she didn’t want to go alone so I said yes and well I loved it and she didn’t!

After the first 3 years of being a nail tech I left the salon I worked in and had a 5 year break where I worked from the NHS and started my accountant training but I realised that just wasn’t for me.

So in 2018 I started back watching all my fave nail techs and started building a kit then went full time in 2019. 

How did you find The Nail Tech Org?

I found NTO in lockdown through Amy Guy, she’s one of my biggest inspirations.

I love the community of NTO, it’s all about us techs and educators.

The sheer amount of help and content on the website is incredible, it covers everything you can think of.

What are your favourite kind of nails to do?

I love all types of nails, frenchies are what I’m known for so probably some sort of French twist on a long slim almond!

Tell us about a holy grail product in your kit.

Oooh my fave tools are everything NIBOVI, the quality is just impeccable and my go to products have to be American Creator Framework Gel which is their hard gel, the colours are lush and the product is just so easy to work with. 

Who is your dream client?

Oh Lordy, I think as I love french I’d LOVE to do a long almond French on Adele and a French Twist on Lana Del Rey!

Do you have any future plans? Let us know!

So I’m currently changing my social presence from client led to student led so working on more education content, growing my academy, building my website and then who knows, maybe a larger salon may be on the cards!
