Hello Beth, from @the.beautybarn__!

Tell us a little bit about you!

My name is Beth, I’m 28 years old. I qualified over 10 years ago, but like a lot of others I didn’t do anything with my qualification until I decided to leave my full time job and start my own business 6 years ago.

Hands down, the best decision I ever made!

I retrained with Bio Sculpture 6 years ago and since then I have trained with Glossify and The Nail Tech Org. I am based just outside of Nottingham, and I have a private studio on my partner’s family farm.

So my clients now expect to hear the cows moo and the chickens cock-a-doodledoo.

In my spare time I love to go hiking with my dog Winnie, helping out on the farm especially when we have baby calves and absolutely love to travel! 

How did you get into nails?

I always remember growing up and sitting with my Mum on a Sunday evening whilst she painted her nails, something I was fascinated by and loved to watch.

I always remember having my toenails painted when I was younger and as I was old enough I started having my nails painted and then going to the salon to have them done.

I went to college after school and got my Beauty Therapy qualification but I was unsure what it was I wanted to do so went into employment.

Fast forward to being 22, I had a mortgage and bills but decided to quit what I knew and follow my passion!

That’s where my business began, I started off training with Bio Sculpture as that was what I was having on my nails and offered manicures and pedicures.

I loved the products and so did my clients!

I was offering a mixture of treatments that kept me super busy. I still love doing lashes & brows but I find that I can be my creativity self more when doing nail treatments. 

What’s your fave thing about The Nail Tech Org?

The community & the forever friends I have made.

I am incredibly grateful that I have been lucky enough to make friends for life being apart of The Nail Tech Org both with the girls who are Team NTO & members who I speak to daily.

We catch flights to see each other and have made some incredible memories together.

I have had so much support from Amy & the girls since joining NTO and I have made some pretty big business decisions since.

Everyone is on your side, supporting each other and rooting for you every step of the way! 

What’s your favourite course you’ve done with us?

My favourite course is The Educator Elevation, I have recently qualified as an Educator from the course and again blown away with the support I received.

I absolutely loved the course and managed to meet one of the other girls at Mani-fest without even realising we was both on the same intake to be reunited again on Zoom.

Lauren has been my rock through the course and since qualifying it’s so nice to have somebody in the same position, setting up their academy and doing this together! 

Also, it’s not a course but I went on the Crete Retreat last September.

GAME CHANGER!

This week changed my life & my business has levelled up since coming back. Dubai 2025 pending…

What are your favourite kind of nails to do?

French!

6 years ago, I would shy away from french but now I talk my clients into having a french mani.

I just don’t think you can beat it, and I love that you can be versatile with a french too, one of my favourite sets was my ‘Crete Retreat’ nails and creating a tiled french which was just Santorini vibes! 

Tell us about a holy grail product in your kit.

Glossify Naturabuild!

I love the variety of colours they offer, they are long lasting and the perfect base for nail art.
