International Women’s Day with the Nail Tech Org

Happy International Women’s Day!

Here at the Nail Tech Org, we’re taking this day (and all month for that matter) to celebrate all the smart, talented, ambitious, and strong women that are a part of the Nail Tech Org!

From fully fledged members, our incredible team of staff, guest speakers and silent instagram likers, we appreciate and are thankful for every single one of you! 

This is the month to feel empowered, inspired, and be the hype woman you wish you had. It’s all about being a cheerleader for yourself and embracing all women. 

To celebrate this iconic month, we’ve been chatting to our very own founder, Amy Guy, to find out what International Women’s Day means to her, when she feels the most empowered, and her biggest inspirations…

WHO IS YOUR BIGGEST INSPIRATION IN THE NAIL INDUSTRY?

Honestly, there is not one specific person… There are hundreds!

I learnt the true meaning of inspiration when I met all of those nail techs during my lockdown live classes – when NTO was born.

The nail industry is absolutely full of incredible people, all with their own survival story to tell. Showing up every day for themselves and each other, it’s indescribable.

I am inspired each and every time I spend time inside our community, chatting to members or on live classes! Everything I do within The Nail Tech org is inspired by the members within the community. 

So I guess to answer the question, I am inspired by every NTO member, every NTO team member and all of the nail techs I have crossed paths with along the way.

WHEN DO YOU FEEL THE MOST EMPOWERED?

I genuinely feel empowered whenever we are together as a community… live masterclasses, on our newsfeed, in the DMs.

I guess last year I got to create that offline too, at our Ibiza nail tech retreat and Liverpool event.

Both of those I will remember for the rest of my life, and if I’m having a hard day I often watch the reel back from the Liverpool event to remind myself that anything is possible.

The energy in that room was another level!!! I definitely felt empowered that day.

WHAT IS THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE YOU COULD GIVE ANOTHER WOMAN?

‘The light you see in others is shining in you too!’

I think as women we can often compare ourselves to others so easily, especially with social media.

Negative self talk and limiting beliefs can creep up on all of us… So I think it’s so important to take time within your own personal development journey to look within and love yourself and all of the special things about you – because there are so many!

When we can truly be ourselves and live in alignment with who we really are, then I think as women that’s when we are unstoppable. That’s where the power is.

HOW WILL YOU BE CELEBRATING INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY?

Of course I’m spending it with our amazing community as we have planned a special live class with Sophie Lee – an inspirational woman and motivational speaker – I absolutely cannot wait!

I’ve also planned a IWD breakfast at home for my friends in the morning. Coffee, croissants and celebrations!!!

I thank my lucky stars every single day for the strong women I am surrounded by, so I can’t wait to spend the day with all of them!
