Here at the Nail Tech Org we are literally obsessed with our growing community of insanely talented Nail Technicians, from all around the world. Let us introduce you to our Member of the Month for June 2022….

Hello @pressed.bydemi !

Tell us a little bit about you!

My name is Demi, I’m 25 years young! I’ve been a full time nail tech since leaving my job to go self employed back in January this year. 

I’m also a full time dog mum (living my best life), I studied fine art in sixth form which I absolutely loved and knew I wanted to go in this direction with my future but I wasn’t sure exactly what I would do, until I discovered my love for nails of course!

How did you get into nails?

I’ve always been one to get my nails done, I love having a new set for every occasion. 

And no matter what job I worked at I was never happy, and to not be happy at your job on top of mental health just wasn’t for me. 

I knew it was time to do something I love and enjoy and have a passion for. 

So in the first lockdown I started creating press ons solely on the fact that I was not yet qualified, and then my love for nails intensified! 

I have created sets for local drag queens in Liverpool and seeing the reaction from them made me know I was onto something good! 

So of course I completed my gel beginners course with the lovely Sarah Woods (@bysarah__) but before this I would do gel nails on my friends and family which grew my confidence to take the plunge and go for it! 

And it’s the best thing I ever did. I’ve never been happier to do something I love.

What’s your fave thing about The Nail Tech Org?

My favourite thing about the nail tech org has got to be the community! 

It’s like one big nail family and I’m here for it! Getting to post your work on the feed and seeing everyone else’s amazing work has become part of my daily routine. 

The inspo and even just the encouragement from other nail techs is the absolute best! 

If you’re a nail tech and you’re not a member you need to get on that waiting list it’s the best thing you will ever do.

What’s your favourite course

I learned a lot from the Naturabuild infill course, so this has got to be my fave! 

But I live for the guest tutorials, forever learning new tips and tricks from them and even inspiring me to get even more creative than I am used to. 

There are so many talented nail techs on there.

What are your favourite kind of nails to do?

My favourite kind of nails has got to be a mix & match nail art set! 

It’s even better when my clients tell me I have free reign to do whatever I want- I’m like a kid at Christmas haha! 

There’s just something so satisfying about drawing on nails for me, and seeing my clients face when I’m creating. 

They must hear ‘trust the process’ at least once at every appointment, but it’s the truest thing ever!

Tell us about a holy grail product in your kit.

My holy grail product in my kit would have to be Glossify Naturabuild, since having it on my own nails and seeing my own nail journey there’s nothing better than being able to help other people with theirs! 

The hardest part is picking a shade. But I also couldn’t live without my Brillbird nail art brushes, that’s what makes the magic happen. 

I’ve tried so many different brands but I tend to stick with my two Brillies as I call them.

If you could sum up The Nail Tech Org in just 3 words, what would they be?

ABSOLUTE GAME CHANGER!
